Elmira Free Community Kitchen

Elmira Community Kitchen, also known as Elmira Free Community Kitchen, has been serving free meals and fellowship to people in need since 1981. The nonprofit, now operated in partnership with Catholic Charities of Chemung/Schuyler, prepares nourishing meals for thousands of neighbors of all ages each year, including families with children, low-wage working people, persons experiencing homelessness, elders, and persons with disabilities. Supported by more than 200 volunteers from 25 local faith communities and organizations, the kitchen emphasizes that both nutritious food and companionship are equally important to human well-being.
