Food Bank of the Southern Tier

The Food Bank of the Southern Tier, a nonprofit established in 1981 in Elmira, NY, is a regional agency of Catholic Charities and an affiliate of Feeding America that collects and distributes food and food-related products to people in need through a network of more than 160 hunger-relief agencies including food pantries, soup kitchens, and shelters. In addition to its core distribution work, the organization operates several direct-service programs including the BackPack Program for children at risk of hunger and the Mobile Food Pantry Program, which uses converted trucks to deliver fresh produce and groceries to rural and high-need areas across its six-county service region in the Southern Tier.
