Sharon’s Pantry

Sharon's Pantry is a community food pantry established in spring 2020 to serve Rockville Centre residents facing food insecurity, operating as an all-volunteer nonprofit with 501(c)(3) status. Named after Sharon Sheppard, the Assistant Director of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center where it is based, the pantry has grown from assisting 22 families at its inception to serving more than 115 families per week, extending assistance to surrounding communities. The pantry distributes groceries in a supermarket-style format and receives support from community donations and regional partners including Island Harvest and Long Island Cares.
