St. Luke’s Food Pantry Schenectady – The Daily Bread Food Pantry
About
St. Luke's Food Pantry, also known as the Daily Bread Food Pantry, was established in the late 1990s by St. Luke's Roman Catholic Church to address food insecurity in Schenectady's inner-city neighborhood. As the second-largest food pantry in Schenectady County, it serves residents of all faiths and backgrounds—including immigrants, seniors, children, working poor families, and vulnerable adults—with approximately 230,000 meals provided annually. The pantry operates as a "People's Choice" model, allowing clients to select their own foods to promote dignity, and offers year-round service along with seasonal Christmas assistance and community outreach programs.
