Assumption Church Food Pantry Kitchen and Sandwich

Assumption Church Food Pantry Kitchen and Sandwich is a ministry of the Franciscan Church of the Assumption that provides emergency food assistance to Syracuse residents in need. Originally begun in the 1800s from the back door of the friary kitchen, the program now operates from its own space and offers both a monthly food pantry for families and a daily sandwich program that provides free bag lunches to anyone who visits. The program is sustained by a dedicated group of volunteers and supported through federal grants and private donations from local grocery stores and community organizations.
