Wichita And Affliated Tribes — Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR)
About
The Wichita and Affiliated Tribes Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR) provides food assistance to eligible tribal members and residents of the Wichita Reserve Area in northern Caddo County, Oklahoma. Created by the Food Stamp Act of 1977 as an alternative to traditional food stamp programs to serve Native Americans in remote areas with limited food access, the program offers monthly food packages in a grocery store setting and operates complementary nutrition education services. Additionally, the organization supports community food security through its Community Garden initiative, established in 2015 to provide fresh produce to program participants.
