Hand Up Project Food Pantry at Knotts Street
About
Hand Up Project Food Pantry at Knotts Street is operated by Hand Up Project, a nonprofit established in 2016 and recognized as the only queer-led food assistance program open to the public in Portland. The pantry offers emergency food assistance through a shopping-style model designed to serve LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities who experience higher rates of food insecurity and may feel unwelcome at traditional food pantries. As a partner with the Oregon Food Bank, Hand Up Project provides a safe, welcoming space focused on bridging systemic gaps in healthy food access.
