Hand Up Project Food Pantry at Mississippi Avenue

Hand Up Project, established in 2016, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and the only LGBTQ2SIA+ founded and led food assistance program in Portland. Operating The People's Pantry Emergency Food Project, it offers a shopping-style pantry that preserves dignity by allowing clients to choose from food staples while catering to individual dietary and cultural needs. Hand Up Project serves as a partner agency with the Oregon Food Bank and is a member of Connect Oregon, a coordinated care network serving Oregon and Southwest Washington.
