Mitzvah Food Project at The Barbara and Harvey Brodsky Enrichment Center of JFCS

The Mitzvah Food Project has served thousands of food insecure individuals and families in Greater Philadelphia since 1996. Operating as part of Jewish Family and Children's Services (JFCS), this choice-based food pantry allows clients to select nutritious food that meets their cultural, health, and personal preferences, with bilingual case workers available to assist in both English and Russian. The program is recognized as a proven model being used as an example by other organizations combating food insecurity across the country, and partners with regional task forces and social service agencies to address clients' broader needs beyond food assistance.
