Mon-valley Unemployed & Committee – Food Distribution Center

The Mon Valley Unemployed Committee operates a food distribution center in Homestead serving the community alongside their primary mission of advocating for unemployed workers since 1982. Founded in response to the collapse of the steel industry in Southwest Pennsylvania, the organization was established by dislocated workers, clergy, and community leaders to address economic hardship in the region. Beyond food assistance, the committee helps individuals navigate the Unemployment Insurance system and advocates for systemic improvements to support workers.
