Fresh Food Farmacy – Lewistown

Geisinger Fresh Food Farmacy in Lewistown operates under a "food as medicine" approach to combat diabetes, food insecurity, and obesity by providing fresh, healthy food and nutrition education to those most in need. Launched in 2019 as part of Geisinger Health System's initiative, the clinic provides participants with enough food for two meals a day, five days a week, along with evidence-based diabetes education and dietary consultations delivered by a clinical care team of nurses, dietitians, and health coaches. Since its inception, Geisinger's Fresh Food Farmacy has served over 2,500 food-insecure patients and provided 3,000,000 meals across its multiple locations.
