Mother Hubbards Cupboard
About
Mother Hubbard's Cupboard is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit food bank established in 1972 in the aftermath of Hurricane Agnes to serve residents of Mifflin County regardless of religious affiliation or status. Operating as a ministry of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Lewistown, the cupboard provides food assistance to low-income families, seniors, unemployed individuals, and anyone in need, supported entirely by community volunteers and local donations without government funding. The organization serves a diverse population including working poor families, single parents, and disabled veterans in its mission to address food insecurity throughout the county.
