Mitzvah Food program

Since 1996, the Mitzvah Food Program has provided nutritious food and basic staples to food-insecure individuals and families throughout Greater Philadelphia. A program of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia operating five pantry locations across the region, the Mitzvah Food Program serves clients regardless of race, religion, or financial background, with a choice-based model that allows clients to select their own food while supported by bilingual case workers. Supported by community donations, grants, and partnerships with organizations like Philabundance, the program distributed nearly 1.1 million pounds of food to over 7,000 people in its last fiscal year.
