Food Pantry of Jeff Davis County

Since 1998, the Food Pantry of Jeff Davis County has served residents of one of Texas's most remote rural communities, alleviating hunger and promoting healthy eating across a 2,265-square-mile county with limited grocery stores and transportation. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit operating with a client-choice model that prioritizes dignity, the organization distributes fresh produce, shelf-stable groceries, and specialized programs including Kids Pantry at the Jeff Davis County Library and senior nutrition boxes, while addressing the county's status as having the highest school-age child poverty rate in Texas.
