Powhatan Food Pantry – Food Distribution Center

The Powhatan Food Pantry – Food Distribution Center is a nonprofit food assistance organization located at 2500 Batterson Road in Powhatan, VA, operated by a coalition of approximately 55 churches of varying denominations in Powhatan County. The pantry provides supplemental food to needy families and elderly residents, reduces food insecurity, and offers USDA food to households that meet eligibility guidelines, distributing food Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday from 10 AM to 12 PM. Originally started as the “HEN Pantry” (assisting the Hungry, Elderly and Needy) by parishioners of St. John Neumann Catholic Church in a small walk-in closet, it was expanded in 2011 with the construction of the current 2,000 square-foot facility, complete with refrigeration, freezer units, and shelving for goods.
