Support To Eliminate Poverty (STEP) Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community action agency that operates the Food Distribution Center as part of its comprehensive services to low-income families and individuals in Rocky Mount, Virginia and surrounding areas. Founded in 1966 as the Franklin County Community Action Program and renamed STEP in 1990, the organization provides food assistance alongside housing, weatherization, early childhood education, youth services, and senior programs to over 3,500 individuals across the region.
