Des Moines Food Bank

Founded in 1966, the Des Moines Area Food Bank is an independent nonprofit organization serving residents of Des Moines, most of SeaTac, and the West Hill of Kent with emergency food assistance. The organization operates a full food pantry featuring canned, fresh, and frozen foods, along with a dedicated produce and bread room, and also offers summer meals for children through a pantry program at Highline College. The food bank receives over 1,000 visits monthly and distributes more than 110,000 pounds of food, supported by community donations, food drives, and partnerships with local schools, churches, civic groups, and city governments.
