Rainier Valley Food Bank

Rainier Valley Food Bank is a volunteer-led nonprofit organization serving Southeast Seattle's most diverse neighborhood, providing fresh and culturally appropriate food to families, seniors, people with disabilities, and homebound individuals. Founded in 1991 as a small neighborhood pantry serving 50 families weekly, the organization has grown to serve over 16,000 people monthly through food distribution, home delivery, mobile markets, and community support programs. As South Seattle's largest food bank, it operates as the primary emergency food resource for a community with significant economic disparities and includes substantial populations of immigrants, refugees, and people of color facing systemic barriers to food security.
