The Campus Kitchen at Gonzaga University

About

The Campus Kitchen at Gonzaga University is a hunger relief program operating since 2005 that recovers surplus food from campus dining and transforms it into healthy meals for low-income communities. The nonprofit organization collaborates with student volunteers to redirect leftover food from Gonzaga's dining halls to senior housing, after-school programs, shelters, and other community sites throughout Spokane, while simultaneously addressing food waste and strengthening community connections. Since its founding, the program has recovered thousands of pounds of food and served hundreds of thousands of meals to those in need across Northeast Spokane.
