Red Cliff Reservation — Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR)

The Red Cliff Food Distribution Program operates under the federally funded Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR), administered by the Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa. The program provides nutritious foods to eligible low-income households on or near the Red Cliff Reservation, as well as residents of Bayfield and Douglas Counties, serving families with members who work for low pay, are unemployed, or elderly and disabled living on fixed incomes. As part of an innovative USDA demonstration project begun in 2021, the program has expanded to include tribally-sourced foods such as fresh produce from the Mino Bimaadiziiwin Farm and fish products from Red Cliff Fish Company.
