About
House of Peace is a nonprofit organization located at 1702 W. Walnut St. in Milwaukee’s Triangle neighborhood that operates the city’s largest food pantry and serves more than 18,000 people annually. The organization provides free food, clothing, and household items for working poor and senior citizens, along with pastoral care and wellness services, including a University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Community Wellness Center and a Marquette University Volunteer Legal Clinic. Founded through Capuchin Community Services—which has been serving people experiencing poverty and homelessness in Milwaukee since 1968—House of Peace remains committed to helping families remain together while promoting self-sufficiency.
