About
Interchange Food Pantry is a nonprofit organization founded in 1971 to address hunger in Milwaukee’s Lower East Side and Downtown. Operating locations at 130 E. Juneau Avenue and 1530 W. Atkinson Avenue, Interchange serves all Milwaukee residents facing food insecurity by providing nutrient-rich groceries including fresh produce, frozen meats, dairy, and bread, along with personal hygiene items. The organization helps nearly 1,000 individuals monthly and is committed to combating food insecurity through its Healthy Food Initiative, which emphasizes access to high-protein foods and fresh fruits and vegetables while connecting guests with additional resources such as Food Share benefits and employment assistance.
