Southside Community Resource Center – Hunger Task Force

The Southside Community Resource Center, operated by Hunger Task Force, is located at 802 W. Historic Mitchell Street in Milwaukee and serves as a vital FoodShare resource for the community. The nonprofit organization has spent 15 years helping clients and families apply for and access FoodShare benefits, Wisconsin’s version of SNAP, while also connecting residents to health insurance, job training, rental and energy assistance, and child care. Operating the expanded 7,000-square-foot facility that opened in March 2025, the center manages nearly 700 client interactions monthly and serves diverse populations representing 23 languages with dignity, privacy, and culturally appropriate support.
