The Neighbors’ Place – Food Distribution Center
About
The Neighbors’ Place is a nonprofit food distribution center serving Marathon County in Wausau, Wisconsin. Founded in 1989 with the mission of “People Helping People,” the organization operates The Market food pantry where households can shop twice monthly for quality food items, pet food, household cleaning products, and personal hygiene items. Beyond food distribution, The Neighbors’ Place has expanded its services to include a Furniture & Basic Needs Bank, Community Learning Center, Computer Lab, Community Garden, and specialized programs like Wheels Again, Gift of Sight, and The Babies’ Place for diaper and menstrual hygiene needs. Annually serving over 12,000 families with multiple touchpoints, the organization relocated to the Community Partner Campus at 360 Grand Avenue to better serve residents with improved accessibility and more space for its vital community support programs.
